Helicopter
Helicopter filming in the Sultanate is a wonderfully rewarding experience, unfolding kilometres of spectacular coastline, mountain ranges and amber-tinted deserts that a drone won't reach. But capturing these jewels from above is a privilege you need to work hard for... It's your luck , we have what it takes.
To help you decide whether or not to opt for aerial in your film or campaign, here are a few tips: |
Step One: the clientThe nature of your project matters to the Omani authorities.
The permit granting process will take more or less time depending on who you are shooting for. A 4-6 weeks timeframe is usually required to get all clearances, unless we can get you in the fast track. |
Step Two: the gearThere is no private civil aviation in Oman, so filming aerials can only be done with the Royal Oman Police helicopters.
This means shooting from the side only. Our partnership with experts in aerial rigging, and with the engineers and pilots at ROP Aviation allows the best stabilised shots and a safe, comfortable time up there. |
Step Three: the footageOnce the filming is over, you need a government clearance before taking your rushes out of the country or into the editing room.
To be on the safe side, consider this step will add another 10 days in your production schedule. |
